System Z, mid-Week 3: $10,619.22
System Z has been performing superbly. For the most part, it is executing similar trades to System HAG.
Since inception, it has completed 12 trades, 11 of which have been profitable. The program is getting as lucky as rookie batting .500 three weeks into the season. Yes, the average will decline, but hopefully that player has shown he deserves to be in the majors.
Most surprising, the program is finding buys nearly every day. This is a direct result of increased speculative activity in markets.
System Z account value: $10,619.22
commissions paid: $125
commissions should be: $50
which means I overpaid: $75
account value corrected for obscene commissions: $10,694.22
System Z actual return since 4/7: 6.19%
System Z corrected return since 4/7: 6.94%
Nasdaq return since 4/7: .2%

I gotta say that I loved reading this bottom up. As I neared the top, I found myself skimming just to learn how you'd done today. Can't beat an emotional reaction to a blog about trading against emotion.
seth,
if you're holding 1-3 days waiting for anxiety to dissipate to cash in, you can look into options for leverage. and during earnings season, you may find multiple candidates that fit your buy/sell criteria but not enough funds to properly allocate. options can will allow you to 'play' more; this in turn can add data points to your analysis of your system.
i've been finding that in beaten down stocks (let's say more than -10%), a break of the 'lowest high before 2pm' after 2pm is usually a low risk entry for a bounce. i attribute it, at least in my mind, to the head traders' lunch meeting.
good luck.

traders don't have lunch meetings during earnings season!
System Z uses limited out-of-the-money options its long term plays.
Your are Nice. And so is your site! Maybe you need some more pictures. Will return in the near future.
